Meditoxin 200U
Meditoxin is an immunobiological drug with a muscle-relaxing effect, composed of a protein complex derived from Clostridium botulinum, which includes Meditoxin’s Type A toxin together with other proteins. When this complex breaks down under normal physiological conditions, the pure neurotoxin is released. Meditoxin’s Type A toxin binds to the nerve endings of the motor neurons, penetrates the nerve cells and blocks the release of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular synapse. As a result, a local muscular denervation is produced chemically, which leads to muscle weakness and paralysis in the treated area.
